"First time there and just loved the place!!!! Good people and wonderful atmosphere. Really loved the outdoor part of the bar especially since I am a smoker. Sorry most people don't like that. So would love to have that set up in my backyard!!!! Great service and definitely will be going back again! Went to go hang out with friends and WOW the place was way above what I expected!. "I don't generally leave reviews, but I recently stopped in on the restaurant side of Gippers and had a great experience. Sadly in 2022 a great experience can't be said for all restaurants, so having this positive experience is worth the mention. In this case, it was good food, good service and a good time. If you are in the area, Gippers is worth stopping at. As long as I am dropping the above review on the restaurant, I want to mention that my family has used their banquet room for small (15~20) gatherings when family comes together from out of town. The banquet room more than met our needs in giving us a more private setting and dedicated wait staff, which is something we couldn't really find anywhere else in the Wilmington area. The banquet room could easily have accommodated more, and directly leads to a large outdoor patio area which worked well for the smokers we have in the group (they just take their drink to the patio and do their thing). We have used the banquet room maybe five times, and each experience met or exceeded our expectations. When you have family coming in from all over the place that you only see every so often, making the most of the little time you get with them is important, and having a positive social/dining experience, pardon the idiom, just leaves a good taste in everyone's mouth. If you are in the area and need a tasteful banquet room type facility, I would recommend them."

"I came with a group after a funeral which they were aware of how many would be attending. The service was slow as if they weren't prepared for our large group but that doesn't take away how amazing the food was!! It was amazing and talk about large portions! You get your money worth for meals that's for sure! Drinks were amazing too! They don't skimp on the booze and measure out their shots unlike other places. I'll definitely return when I'm in that area!"

"Excellent bar,good food, fine service .The staff is very accommodating. Check the hours,they do open early to accommodate night shift workers in the morning,this is wholly dependent on the work going on in the area. Vanessa was our bartender earlier today,not only did she mix drinks,serve the wonderful burgers that Gippers is noted for(they have a full menu,so don't limit yourself),but I was told that she sang some karaoke later that day,and did a hell of a job,with her effervescent personality and that ever present infectious smile.And she's only one of these seraphic servers you'll meet at this wonderful tavern."
